UAE Visa Overstay Fine Drops

UAE Federal authorities recently reduced the visa overstay fine straight from Dh100 to Dh50 per day. Under the new rule, travellers who overstay their UAE visa must pay Dh50 per day instead of Dh100.

UAE residents who overstay their visa must pay Dh50 per day, up from the previous Dh25. new visa fine came into effect on October 3rd this year soon after the implementation of the New Entry and Residence visa regulation by the UAE Government.

Previously, UAE immigration authorities determined the overstay fine based on the type of visa that had expired.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security announced that the new Dh50 overstay fine applies to all types of visa violators.One can pay this overstay fine online through the authority website and smart application. Or, you can visit the happiness centre and make the payment.

Visa Overstay Fine 

If you start a visa renewal application but fail to upload the required documents within 30 days, or if you submit incorrect documents more than three times, the UAE immigration authorities may cancel your application.

Once the UAE authorities cancel or let your residence permit expire, you have six months to update your visa status or leave the country

Remaining in the country after this period is illegal and may lead to detention or legal penalties.

Earlier, tourists or those planning to visit the UAE had no specific visa options. The UAE authorities required visitors to apply for 30-day, 60-day, or 90-day visit visas. These entry permits—valid for one, two, or three months—are still available. However, they are meant only for people visiting friends or relatives in the UAE. All entry visas allow single or multiple entries, and travellers can renew them for another 60 days.
